01The problem

Clinical information arrives as documents: discharge summaries, lab reports, imaging read-outs, referral letters — scanned, faxed, uploaded. The facts a clinician needs exist somewhere in that pile, and finding one number can mean paging through years of PDFs. Generic chat-with-your-documents tools fail here for one reason: in medicine, an answer without a source is a liability, not a convenience.

02What we built

• Upload records, labs, and imaging reports into a patient's document space within Healaxy's platform.
• Ask questions in natural language — "what was the last HbA1c?", "any prior contrast reactions?" — instead of scrolling.
• Every answer cites its source, linked to the exact document and passage, so verification is one click, not a re-search.
• Team collaboration on the same document set, with audit trails of who asked and accessed what.
• HIPAA-grade privacy posture throughout — minimum necessary data, access boundaries, accountability.

03How it's built

The design principle is citation-first retrieval: the system may only answer from what it can point to. That single constraint drives the architecture — and it's the same evidence-linked pattern that anchors our own Medellis Scribe, applied to a client's ecosystem.
